Sweden
I was granted the opportunity to study abroad in Sweden. Much of what I saw here inspired me to write my healthcare capstone. Within the past decade, a number of Swedish prisons have been forced to close down due to reduced quantities of prisoners. Sweden focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment. My thesis sheds light on the cracks in our prison system, and offers prospective solutions towards correcting them.
