The Center for Language Science - Penn State
Sept 2019 - July 2020
Prior to graduate school, I worked as a Lab Manager/Human Research Technologist for the Center for Language Science at The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA. The Center for Language Science (CLS) is an interdisciplinary group of linguists, psycholinguists, applied linguists, speech language pathologists, speech scientists, and cognitive neuroscientists who share an interest in language acquisition and bilingualism. As a lab manager I assisted with various faculty projects, seen below.

Brain, Language, and Computation Lab

I have helped with data extraction in the eye tracking portion of the Reading Brain Project Study. I have also assisted in cleaning this data using drift correction and have converted files so that they may be compatible with OpenNeuro, a neuroinformatic database.

The Bilingualism and Language Development Lab

I ran participants using electroencephalogram (EEG) and have assisted in preparing questionnaire forms for participants and collecting data for orthographical analysis.

I used the diffusing tensor imaging (DTI) technique in order to investigate the connection between neural factors and age-related decline observed in language production.
